Last night Everland was lucky enough to attend the launch party for Brisbane’s newest bar come blusey after-hours diner, Greaser.  We entered the venue through a large red gate off Brunswick Street, down a dimly lit alley where we were greeted by an outdoor socializing area. We walked past the commercial kitchen (very cool) and found ourselves in the belly of the venue.

The first things we noticed (and loved) were the exposed brick walls and use of low lighting throughout.  Portraits of Elvis were hung on the walls and the barstools were covered in upcycled denim jeans. All of these things, coupled with the Kanye-meets-Elvis tunes coming from the DJ, helped to create a really authentic atmosphere.  The venue is mazelike, plenty of different seating options in the various rooms there to explore.

Local and American craft beers flowed on tap, including Cricketers Lager and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Great selection of wine and all the spirits you would expect. The food is authentic and delicious. We tried the fried chicken, mini American hotdogs and cheeseburgers, all yummy and had that traditional diner feel and taste that we were hoping for.

Overall a great atmosphere, perfect for a drink with friends or tapas like meal.

Greaser is open to the public from 6pm tonight!
