St Jerome's Laneway Festival 2014 was not one to miss. Sweeping the globe and stopping in major cities from Detroit to Singapore to Auckland and all across Australia I was lucky enough to attend the Brisbane show.

Held on the 31st of January at the RNA showgrounds the day started overcast and drizzly but that didn't stop keen festival goers when the gates opened at 12:30. Across four stages and almost 12 hours the festival packed in an impressive lineup from all over the world. Triple J's Hottest 100 winner for 2014 - Vance Joy were one of the first acts I caught. He preformed his hit Riptide which took off and set the tone for a great day to come.

Chvrches, Cashemere Cat and HAIM saw out the last of the sunlight with a bang and recent Grammy award winner Lorde, The Jezabels and Cloud Control welcomed in the night performing some good sing-a-long hits. Between acts there was plenty to do - a great variety of market stalls were set up as well as a mini Uppercut barber on site. Sailor Jerry, Bulmers and Smirnoff were the drinks of choice for the day and there was a great variety of food stalls to choose from.

The party continued into the night at Turnt club where we mingled with the likes of Earl Sweatshirt who played at killer DJ set.

What a day!
